Water Wednesday – Seeing is Believing
This is a video of water. Kayak fly fishing at the Lydia Ann Fly Masters tournament last month provided some rather good video of water, and it is Water Wednesday at Texas Fly Caster after all.
If you watch the video, you’ll get some information on the GoPro Hero 3, how to mount it, and standing up on a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 – and how that’s done. Somewhere in there is some fish porn – ladyfish porn, which is easy to get with these live-wire fish.
It will probably be too late, and a reactive conservation effort, by the time ALL TEXANS and ALL TEXAS realizes that the freshwater we release down our river system to the Texas Gulf Coast has an immediately measurable, distinct and overwhelming impact on the Texas Gulf Coast saltwater fishery. What we are living in now, those of us who make the trek to fly fish in saltwater along the Texas Gulf Coast, may well be the “good old days” we tell future generations about. Once the flow of freshwater to the bays is curtailed, salinity goes up, and the fish we like don’t like that.
Enjoy fly fishing in saltwater now because if you think it will always be there waiting for you …
