Foggy Monday Morning

| April 29, 2024 | 0 Comments

Go slow and keep those headlights low. I can barely see to the end of the driveway, so the only way to know if that is the end of the world? is to go outside and walk into it. That’s what we do isn’t it? We walk into a place hoping to walk out at the end with new stories, new fish and new bonds with nature.

This week, the weather will have to give a little for us to get a little – here in North Central Texas. Cinco de Flyo is a few days away while today is my SO’s birthday. Cinco also happens to be a young grandson’s first birthday. How about that! You can read between these lines; it’s a busy week closing out April and charging fly rod first into May.

Be sure to look back at my SIX BEST CARP FLIES OVER TEXAS story and video published over the weekend. While you long-time readers and watchers know I am allergic to making “fly tying videos,” I don’t mind talking flies in the broad sense of Best Flies for a particular fish and/or situation. My list of topics is now bulging at the seams! I have so many questions piling up, questions to answer, that I can spend the rest of 2024 just answering questions.

If weather cooperates, we – my twin brother and I – will have a rematch with Amon G. Carter Lake outside of Bowie, Texas, this week. Last week’s outing was a real grinder, but that’s how we learn, right? Right!

Thanks for tuning in today! Check those river flows! Some places are seeing huge releases right now! I can cut through the noise for you – just sign up for my “Hot Spots 2024” SMS messaging. No fluff, just fish.
