Returning to Sportsman’s Finest this coming Saturday, Dillon Renton will give a presentation on the Deschutes River, a unique fishery as far as Pacific Northwest waterways go. It is one of the few to have an outstanding trout and steelhead population, a rare opportunity to host both.
Topics he will cover include tactics and tackle with an emphasis on swinging flies which has become a growing game and is not only important to steelhead and salmon, but is having a big growth in the trout scene*. While swinging can be as simple as letting a fly and line come across the surface, there are many variables as well as products that can change the presentation of our flies and create different reactions from the fish we are pursuing.
At the conclusion of his presentation, Dillon will demonstrate how to tie some of his favorite innovative and productive patterns for Steelhead, including an Intruder style fly.
