Cinco de Mayo Celebration de Pescados Locos

In honor of Cinco de Mayo I decided a little fishing was in order yesterday. I had to go a little “herky-jerky” on the carp video in order to avoid giving away the location to our favorite people – bowfishers. It was the largest gathering of large common carp I have ever seen, and they were only interested in one thing, and it wasn’t eating. I did momentarily hook a ten plus pounder, but it quickly dived for weeds, wrapped and broke off my six pound fluorocarbon leader. I would estimate that greater than fifty percent of the fish were double digit size carp.

New Guide on the Block
Also, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I picked up my guide’s license today. It’s amazing just how easy it is to get one of these, and now I have one. Thankfully, progressive licenses have greater requirements, and now it’s on to the possibility of one or two of those as well. Look for me to hang that shingle out here sometime very soon.
