Tailwaters Fly Fishing Company is seeking to fill two internship positions located at our World HQ in Dallas, Texas. This will be our third Summer for the program and first time to publicly open the interview process. Join our team this Summer and become a part of a fun, fast paced work environment while gaining vast experience and knowledge of the industry at Texas’ Fly Shop.
Throughout the 12 week program, the interns will have a main focus on sales and marketing. In addition, the candidates will have exposure to the financial side of running and operating a specialty retail store and travel outfitter, including but not limited to inventory management, buying, sales forecasting, as well as website and social media content creation. Participation in marketing, sales, customer experience, and other related meetings that lead to an overall exemplary shop experience is expected. The intern schedule is Wednesday – Saturday, at 30 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Intermediate Fly Fishing experience is required
- Brand and product knowledge preferred (Simms, Howler, Fishpond, Sage, Scott, etc.)
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business, Marketing, or related fields
- Must have a strong interest in product management and retail sales
- Strong communication skills, and relationship building with a service minded attitude is preferred
- Outgoing and friendly personality, and ability to work well within a team environment
- Point of sale experience and/or retail experience preferred
