Ray Roberts Closures Continue
From Robbie Merritt Park Superintendent Ray Roberts Lake State Park Complex
Howdy Shannon,
It has certainly been a very tough month for us up here at the parks. Most of the park units remain closed due to a combination of flooding on the lake areas, and now down the river, as well as the ongoing storm clean up and hazard mitigation work from the tornado event on 5/25/24. The Greenbelt hike and bike trails north of FM 428, the Greenbelt fishing basin by the dam, and the Lone Star Lodge at Jordan park are currently the only park units open to the public.
There is not a set timeline for when other park units will reopen or in what order, as much depends on how quickly the lake drops, areas dry out, and how much storm/flood clean up progress we can continue to make at each site. However, if the current rate of lake drop continues, we do hope to have a boat ramp or 2 open by sometime in early July.
The best source for the most update park closures and opening information is on our website and facebook page:
