Good MLK Monday Morning
texas fly fishing #flyfishing
We’re taking the day off today, just as many of you are, for the MLK Holiday. Needless to say, I got a lot of photographs in yesterday (Sunday) from fly fishers as far away as Beaver’s Bend, Oklahoma, and the Louisiana marshes. And in case you were here looking for the video report – Texas Fly Fishing Report© – you may have missed the announcement that we are moving that to Thursdays.
This has been a spectacular weather window, average daily temperatures have bottomed out, and now are back on the rise. Of course we know there’s snow in February and March around here, so don’t put away the long-johns just yet.
For those of you wondering about the Texas Women Fly Fishers trip to the LBJ Grasslands; I received some first-hand information from an Airstream club that was camped there over the weekend. I’ll bring you that this week, and may even have some time – once the weather goes bad this week – to go take a look.
The Silver Fly
Rather than taking this window to fly fish, I’ve been out working on the Airstream near Cottondale, Texas. If you are interested in that manual labor of love, or Airstreams, be sure to check out the Airstream Diary, or a website I built for the owners of A&P Vintage Trailer Works.
Have a fantastic holiday, and look for something here tomorrow – thanks to those of you sending in your phone photographs from all over the Country! I will certainly feature YOUR photographs tomorrow.
