Fishy Friday! What’s To Do in Fort Worth Tomorrow?

Good afternoon everyone! I must say it’s pretty hard to fly fish from a gas well sitting on top of the shale, but I caught a break for the weekend – got back to Denton, and began scouring the infinite scroll of e mails for anything going on in the world of fly around North Texas. And this is what I found:
INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING by BACKWOODS FORT WORTH TEXAS
Join us for an introduction to the world of fly fishing. You will learn about all of the equipment, techniques, and strategies that make fly fishing unique. The class is limited to 6 students, all equipment is provided, and the cost is $75. Registration and payment must be made in advance at the store to secure a space.
I am not sure if this “secure a space” means the museum, or what, but at $75-dollars a pop, you are bound to learn a lot, right? Somebody let me know how this goes, and I am more than happy to post pictures and any story that you send in on this event — just the same as any and every fly fishing event!

This is Woodcock’s Intro to Fly Fishing class that he runs a couple of times each month. It is the class Mandy and I took when we started. It is the class I recommend to all newbies. You learn casting, reading the water, basic fly tying, and what you need to own to get started.
It’s a good value because you will get a lot of beginners info in a short time with some personalized instruction.
