MONDAY MORNING DRIVE

THE DAYS ARE GETTING SHORTER!

Welcome from wherever you are this morning! This is the new Monday Morning sidewalk in a brand new format. Please feel free to load this into your car’s drive time – subscribe, and sit back as those red tail lights make it feel a lot like Christmas.

I am going to ride this audio format until the last dog dies. I can’t say I will be on with you every single Monday morning, but that’s part of the discipline required ESPECIALLY in fly fishing – YOU GOTTA SHOW UP!

North Texas is one very hot mess this week. Weather talk just can’t be avoided. We are heading into daily 90s and the wind has the potential to close out big lakes like our Texoma explorations

But we also have several events to be aware of in coming days and weeks!

This week I turn 39 for one more year holding at that beautiful age. No I am not saying I am or was beautiful but regardless of the intense personal turmoil I was going through then – it turned on a dime – for the better.

Check out the Orvis event in Southlake Texas later this week. A gathering and a chance to watch the other film tour – details and links are in the link you can click on now.

Not to be outdone, Tailwaters in Dallas is holding a top-shelf shindig at Magdalena’s in Fort Worth the SAME night.

Next Saturday, a day after my cake, theres another gathering of Art Room Military Veterans fly tying at the Art Room in Downtown Denton, Texas. Contact me if you are an interested Veteran! Check out the Denton Military Veterans Fly Tying at the Art Room Denton, Texas.

I had a fantastic phone conversation with Chris Johnson, the owner of Living Waters Fly Shop in Round Rock, Texas, a couple days ago and he said his presentations at that shop and the fly tying events there are still showing huge turnout this fall. When I say huge? I mean capacity and overflowing crowds. If you are near Round Rock, Texas, the town were Sam Bass was not killed in 1878 – be sure to check out Living Waters and their events. Tell Chris who sent you too!

I have a few of the fly mats I make – in the Swan Point Landing Orvis endorsed store in Rockport, Texas NOW. So be sure to at least stop in there and check them out. Of course that shop is operated by Dave Hayward and Dave is a fountain of knowledge. Stop in and see Dave. He’s a sharing kind of guy, and can also find you a guide if you are looking for one in that area.

spacexbocachica

How about that perfect rocket booster grab at SpaceX in Boca Chica? Truly amazing. I wish I were there for that one! Another truly amazing fact – SpaceX Boca Chica is seeking permits to dump treated sewage into South Bay, an amazing fly fishing spot in the South Padre Island Lower Laguna Madre system. How do you think that’s going to turn out? Feel Free to Think before you vote this time around.

I can tell you from my experiences in San Diego, and their dumping into the Pacific – if Space X gets permits to dump? South Bay is gone FOREVER. Ask yourself, why does the richest man in the world NEED to dump treated sewage in South Padre Island’s South Bay? Answer: It’s the cheapest solution to a shitty problem. This is why YOU VOTE. It matters more than ever NOW.
