Dryft Waist Pack Review
I’m a Fanny of This Pack
In case you missed my review of the Dryft, what are now called, “waist” packs? You can get my thoughts and see it on video if you go to the Texas Fly Caster Video – Fly Fishing Report 220522 and go to the 0:15:05 mark in the video!
You can see the Dryft Waist Pack at BKCNTRY Waterproof Hip Pack where there are great photographs of this pack. My take on this is – I love it, BUT the very front outermost compartment (zippered) is NOT waterproof. So don’t do what I did, and put your GoPro batteries in that particular spot. Otherwise, the 5L capacity is so big, you can actually overweigh it. If you actually have a shelf in back, that’s not a problem, but if you are a more … shall we say … typical old white dude? the pack will, just like all the rest, slide right down your backside. So don’t overfill it is the simple answer! It doesn’t start out-of-the-box heavy, but you can certainly load it up.
A pack of this volume can also be a great wear-on for your summer vacations! It will hold just about anything you NEED for a day trip in Maui or sightseeing when you hop off the cruise ship in Belize.
