What We Deserve or What if a GPS Gets Lost?
Do you ever wonder if we all get what we deserve?
Apparently my Garmin 60Csx with the extra sweet Navionics chip for our region has … disappeared. It’s not the first thing I’ve lost, but it is by far, far far, the most expensive thing I have ever lost in my life. I say “lost” because I can not fathom anyone stealing such a thing and actually knowing what it is, or what to do with it. Of course I will check the pawn shops on Monday since they know me anyway.
If you are an avid reader of Texas Fly Caster, you have obviously read my reports on the Garmin 60Csx, and perhaps you have even benefitted from the pinpoint accuracy of the coordinates provided in the “Hot Spotting” thread – all courtesy of the Garmin carried from here to eternity, those extra few ounces lugged along just so you know where to throw what and when.
So, it’s gone and it couldn’t be at a worse time if I had chosen it myself – headed to points unknown in Colorado, and wherever the wind blows. Now, maps are not that difficult but a GPS unit like the one missing, is a pretty awesome crutch and a detail I enjoyed bringing to readers.
I am still not sure it had as much value to readers as it had to me, so c’est la vie, goodbye, sayonara and so long. Apparently, if I was worthy of keeping such a fine unit, I would still have it. Don’t we all get, or have, what we deserve anyway? And if a GPS gets lost …

If I do find it, it’s for sale! The price for a new one is double what I originally paid. Amazing. How often does that happen?
Thanks for the call from Aberdeen, Scotand, CB! I still don’t have the GPS, but our conversation was a good distraction. NOW, send us some pictures soon! TFC
