OVERNIGHT

| December 22, 2018

In case you missed it, yesterday was the shortest day of the year! Joy springs eternal on that day because it means one, and only one thing.

Now, and only now, do the days get longer. Isn’t that the greatest news we get as the slow dive into North Texas winter hits bottom? Just before the plane hits the ground we hit the “air breaks” and jump off the plane, the planets – flat as they may be – make the turn that leads us back into the light of lights, the spring of springs and the summer.

Almost without reserve, the shortest day of the year is my favorite day of the year. Yes, there are other great days, but in the world of fly this is it.

So have a fantastic Saturday as you rush about, looking for your last minute Santa’s gifts! I would suggest a few things for you who seek goods for your fly guys and gals, but then that would take all the fun out of it wouldn’t it?
