In Denton Tonight – FF Culture on the Skids
If you are footloose tonight, and within striking range of Denton, Texas, be sure to try and make it up to Denton for First Friday Denton. This is a blatant crossover to another project of mine – First Friday Denton, and the First Friday Denton event and website for that event.
I created First Friday Denton more than two years ago to highlight Denton arts, music, artisans and all those things that make Denton what it is. And the event has actually taken off and is flying high this year with more participants than ever before, and events taking place all over the Downtown Denton area. There’s all kinds of information on the site and a map showing all participants.
One good direct crossover, is the beer sampling – Armadillo micro brew – at SCRAP Denton. Go in there, and tell them you need a sample, and get there early. Maybe you can comment on their beer here, and of course if you’re into beer, be sure to stop at the northeast corner of Carroll and Hickory – at Midway Mart – for the greatest collection of beers known to Denton.
I find myself gravitating toward the New Belgium “Red October,” a sophisticated fall beer that reveals a different nuance with every glass (and as the beer temperature changes). There are a lot more beers being released every week, and we will catch up as the recommendations come in (attn. – recommend a beer!).

Sampled the Armadillo offering. Not bad and about to be part of the lineup at Oak Street Draft House in Denton, Texas.
