Tying a Killer Sand Bass Fly For Spring Sand Bass Runs

My self-assignment was to make an interesting fly tying video. If you have been watching my fly tying videos over the years? First a heartfelt THANKS for getting through those videos. Second, I still haven’t figured out how to make the genre of (MY) fly tying videos any more interesting over all these years! And you know my feelings on the subject … of my OWN fly tying videos, right? Paint drying is more interesting.

However, in the interest of serving someone other than myself with these videos, and there are many thousands of others apparently, I am bringing you this video AND announcing remakes of some oldie-but-goodies from decades ago! When I say, “decades,” we are talking about fifteen years ago. As I looked back through my old fly tying videos, with their pioneering number of “views” on YouTube, I realized that they are extremely low quality recordings. But my memory did NOT fail! I remember: When those videos were created and uploaded, my channel was only allowed to upload lower definition (low def) videos!

So get ready, BRAND NEW HD versions of those classic fly tying videos are on the way to you throughout this year!

This is a simple fly, but with a unique twist to it. It has a special hook that does very well catching white bass (sand bass) when their bite is on. It is also a great fly for beginners. That is because of the HOOK.

And as this Spring is about to spring, it seems like a good time to roll out one of the flies I tie and sell in PoPs Fly Shop – for you to try! The hook is the thing. You may have these in your supplies, and not really known what to do with them. Well, this video should help you use some of those hooks up.

But know, these hooks are no longer made, and that means we have to cherish the ones that are left. Many posts with accompanying video were lost in the transition to the new site design. I am trying to go back through and re-up them so that they are part of the record for calendar year eighteen of this website.

For the unlucky, this will be your second viewing, kind of like an old fashion funeral before they stick the old guy in the ground for good.

The good thing? We will be caught up very, soon!
