Remember How To Escape?

Current Events Remind Us Where Peace Is

I don’t need to tell you we are living in extraordinary times, and have been through the rough-and-tumble of history in real-time for a number of years now.

Some of you didn’t experience, with fullness, the 2008 economic depression, but most of us can look back just a short way in the rearview – to see a pandemic, unrest and the de-civilizing of this great Country. I have a side to take, but I never take it here. Even though one of my minors in higher education was history, the history I now study are topics like the Gulf of Mexico.

I believe it serves all of us well to remember; there is peace in nature. These are the times, regardless of the temperature, to turn it ALL OFF and get out in nature – if even for a single hour. If you missed yesterday’s post on “Rocky Mountain Highs,” those were great times in my early fly life, and were WAY OUTSIDE and away from what was going on at that time – the 2008 depression, slowly recovering for some, and never to recover from – for me.

I am trying to get a new Texas Fly Fishing News Report update done for those of you who watch the YouTube Channel, and that WILL BE DONE in the next day or two. (I have a runaway YouTube popup on this site, so don’t get too annoyed by it!) There is also a new fly fishing product on the horizon, and I will be prototyping that this week.

I hope that wherever you are reading from, you have a great week, and don’t forget history when it happens. Whether it is good or bad, history is what shapes us, makes us and keeps us. Maybe you can find the time to get outside this week, and make some history of your own.

Thank you for reading this morning. Keep reading. Be safe. Stay tuned.
