Run Up The Padre On for Saturday October 12

Fly Fishing on the Texas Gulf CoastThe LMFFA annual fly fishing beach trip is this Saturday, October 12, 2013. We will be meeting at the SPI Convention Center Parking lot at 6:30 a.m. and will depart for the beach at 7:00. Lunch and drinks will be provided for the trip up to the Port Mansfield Jetties and a tailgate lunch at the jetties. There is no fee for LMFFA members. Guests are certainly welcome however they will be asked to join LMFFA and pay $35.00 for 2013 LMFFA dues.

Saturday evening after the beach trip we will be having a dinner and social at Stanley and Leslie’s home on SPI, at 118 Kings Court. Dinner and Social is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Anyone who would like to come on over after we return from the beach trip you are welcome to hang out at our home. We will have drinks and snacks for everyone between the beach trip and the 6:00 p.m. dinner. If you have any questions please call or email me at the number or email address below.
Also please email me or call me to let me know if you plan on attending either or both the beach trip or dinner. Additionally indicate whether you have a four wheel drive vehicle and have room for someone to ride with you or if you will need to ride with one of the other four wheel drive vehicles going.

NOTE – Unless you have a bloody good excuse, and are in range of this event, you have to do this run! Forget the weather, the tides and all that jazz – just go. The one time I have done this, it was much like a race – hurry and get to the cut, then wet a line for a few minutes and run back. If you go on your own (4 WD), stay behind and really give this a go at the Port Mansfield cut.
