Whoa. The weeks are flying by now, and the weather is at least starting to stabilize at a warmer level around these parts. Welcome to wherever you are this morning, and as always; safe travels to and from those locations you love, hate and tolerate.

Last week’s weather made a mess of things, which was no big spring surprise. If you missed it, the big find was gar spawning out in the spots where creeks and feeders were still draining water into the lake (Ray Roberts). After that, the wind and weather took their turns with the rest of last week. However, we are getting closer, so close in fact that I had to create that obnoxious ad on the right-hand side to remind those of you wanting to book a trip that it’s about time to pick your date. There is a new page on Texas Fly Caster! It’s the “Calendar” page where you can find dates that are still available for booking your carp fly adventure.

It’s going to be hard to avoid getting out on the water this week, even if there are plenty of deadlines looming. There’s the art show in San Angelo … okay, there really aren’t “plenty” of deadlines, but plenty of work remains just to get to that show. It’s the Chicken Farm Art Center’s “First Saturday” event, and a great excuse to roll out some new art, as well as visit my “art family” converging in San Angelo the first Saturday in April.

Today, it’s off to document an install of a solar panel system in a 2008 Airstream trailer. How is that for diversity. (This site really is a box of chocolates, isn’t it?) Keep your eyes on the weather, and the wind. That will give you a good idea of what your next chocolate bite will be – plain or completely nuts.

Be sure and keep your eyes on the flows out of your local lakes, like Ray Roberts. They could open it up at any time, and we are still in season to trigger the bite below those lakes. Maybe you could let all the readers here know what you’re fishing for these days as well? Heck! We don’t want to have to go and figure it all out on our own, do we?

Thanks for reading and have a fantastic week.
