IFA Kayak Division Redfish Tournament Getting Closer

| July 18, 2011

IFA Kayak Fishing Tour

Sure, the vast majority of Texas Fly Caster readers aren’t waking to the sounds of surf, or the smell of salt every morning, but we do have some salty dogs out there who know where the redfish are.

The Inland Fishing Association has a kayak fishing division with their events shadowing the regular tournament by a day. We fished that tournament last year when it pulled into Rockport, Texas, and regardless of my poor performance, it’s a tour and tournament worth pursuing if only for its “exotic” locales.

By Texas standards, an event in Grand Isle, Louisiana, and one in Corpus Christi, Texas, are well within competitive range. There’s still the issue of gas in the tank though.
