Predictable weather makes fish more predictable too.
We finally have some normal weather settling in here in North Texas, and that makes pulling one of those spontaneous, uncut Texas Fly Fishing Reports, out of somewhere, much more easy than unpredictable spring weather patterns. Call this weather a “laxative” for predictable if you will … So tune in tomorrow afternoon for your Texas Fly Fishing Report, and feel free to pass it along to your friends.
I’ve had two days on the water earlier this week already, the wind was higher than predicted, and had a strong effect on where and how I fly fished this week. Carp are in a particular pattern and headed toward another fascinating pattern very soon. Technically – the only thing keeping me from sticking five-hundred carp this year is the weather, but then the weather does change, doesn’t it?
We may be headed toward a lot of other changes (on the personal side) that settle the patterns of posting on Texas Fly Caster as well. I know a lot of expectations for predictable information from the Texas Fly Caster website and YouTube Channel are out there. And since I never know what those are, or have any suggestions on how to improve what you find here — I just have to keep trying different things until I see the numbers tell me you are on board.

I have actually been spending considerable time – behind the scenes – encouraging big time fly fishing manufacturers and Statewide magazines, who have finally stepped up to participating on social media (long after its prime), TO STEP up to the next BIG shift which is already long underway — YOUTUBE as a driver for their business. It’s amazingly frustrating to be out ahead of these organizations and companies, companies that make and have all the money, once again (see social media), and KNOW that they will “discover YouTube for themselves” long after I brought it to their doors on a silver platter. This may be the first time you’ve heard me toot this horn, but I have been preaching YouTube for years already. I know, pure brilliance right? I mean, I’m the guy who didn’t buy Apple at when it went to $1.40 a share in 1999! How’s that for smarts? Of course, if I had bought Apple, we wouldn’t know each other now would we?
File this one under pure genius, if you get what I mean.
