Fly Fishing Texas – About Time for Some March Fishing Madness

| March 3, 2012

FISH FLASH – Anyone interested in getting onto some close combat creek-style sand bass and maybe some palmetto bass action, it’s that time again. Hit on my GUIDE page, and then CONTACT me.

EURO STYLE CARP – I went to Lake Fork, Texas, to do a story on the inaugural carp fishing tournament being held there, and still going on at this writing. It’s a microcosm of what makes America great really; Romanians from Chicago, Her Majesty’s subjects now in Dallas and Denver, and more in attendance — all to catch buffalo smallmouth and common carp. All the Lake Fork records will fall in those two categories this week, and in the last 42 hours the buffalo category has fallen more than once.

NEW GEOCACHE – Get ready for another Fly Geocache to be placed today. I will give out the information via tweet – follow at texasflycaster.

I will have more on all these subjects this week, but if you are in range of the tournament at Lake Fork, get there before noon, and check out the setups, and pegs, and stick around for the awards. There’s some serious money involved in this tournament, not bass size, but significant.
