Fly Fishing Report – North Texas and Oklahoma

| March 6, 2013

Well, with the temperatures breaking records all over North Texas on Monday, is it any surprise that the bass were banging pretty hard in the shallows of Lake Kiowa, Texas? I also heard from the north side of Lake Ray Roberts and the same size largemouth bass were hitting there as well – about 2-3 year-olds. All the fish we caught on Kiowa were very healthy and a bit more frisky because the water is shallower and warmed up more quickly there. OF COURSE, the temperatures plunged that same night, and we went from record highs to below normal highs for yesterday and today.
