Fly Fishing Curiosities and Whatnots

lifeboat knife circa 1947
Lifeboat knife purchased recently. At least that’s what it was called.

I hit my favorite place, Curiosities in Lakewood area of Dallas, for unusual fish related items last week, and came away with a couple more antique photographs and what was labeled as a “lifeboat knife.” It was dated to 1947, and if you have any more knowledge on this – please feel free to chime in.

Fish on boardwalk
I get the feeling they didn’t catch the fish.

Antique fish photograph
This one really is curious. I wonder what they are thinking. The guy with the rod is pretty serious though.
