2013 TU Mid-South Regional Meeting
Feb. 15-17
Sattler, TX

Join fellow anglers and TU volunteer leaders from across the Mid-South for the 2013 regional meeting in conjunction with the – Guadalupe River Chapter’s (GRTU) Annual TROUTFEST on February 15-17 in Sattler, TX.

Who should attend? Anyone committed to building effective TU chapters and councils.

What will you learn? Opportunities abound to develop your governance skills and practices, discover solutions to your leadership challenges, and increase your understanding of the key trends and coldwater conservation issues impacting the Mid-South region. TU regional meetings are occasions to be inspired — by the work of TU staff, lessons from leaders and conversations with newfound friends.

Schedule

Friday, Feb. 15 — Evening Banquet
We invite you to attend GRTU’s annual banquet, featuring Lefty Kreh. The cost for this event is $50 per ticket. To register for this banquet or learn more about seminars and activities associated with TROUTFEST, visit: www.grtutroutfest.org. Please note that your registration for the Mid-South Regional Meeting will not include a banquet ticket. Please register for the GRTU banquet independently.

Saturday, Feb. 16 — Workshops and Seminars
At the Canyon Resource and Rec Center, you’ll meet fellow Trout Unlimited leaders from across the Mid-South, share your chapter’s successes, learn what others are doing, and be inspired by all TU is accomplishing. Designed and led by TU grassroots leaders and staff, Saturday’s workshops, presentations, and panels will provide a forum to hear and see case studies from successful efforts and an opportunity to ask questions of those who have been there already. Topics will range from chapter effectiveness type workshops to conservation topics specific to the Mid-South. A detailed agenda will be posted to tu.org/events soon.

Saturday, Feb. 16 — No-host Dinner
Following the full day of workshops and seminars, join fellow TU leaders for a no-host dinner at the Gristmill in Gruene, TX. After dinner, TROUTFEST will host the Fly Fishing Film Tour on the banks of the river. For more information or to purchase tickets to the Film Tour, visit: www.grtutroutfest.org.

Sunday, Feb. 17 — Optional Day of Fishing
Enjoy an optional day of fishing on the Guadalupe River, the southernmost trout fishery in the United States, and one of TU’s “Top 100 Trout Streams.” When registering, sign up for a free day of hosted fishing with local guides and TU members.

TFC NOTE – There’s a lot more to come in the “Fly Fishing Clubs and Organizations” department – including the open debate on the actual usefulness of clubs. We can’t shy away from such a basic question these days, now can we? If you are a club type, don’t forget to renew as this is a brand new year, and most dues are calendar based. And speaking of dues, don’t forget to renew your Oklahoma license as well. You can find all 50 state fishing license links at www.buyafishinglicense.com.
