EL PESCADOR Ambergris Caye, Belize

On October 14, 2013 Jenny and I were married on the fly casting dock at Orvis Endorsed El Pescador Fly Fishing Lodge, Ambergris Caye, Belize.

The fishing and hospitality at the lodge was top notch. On our trip we landed Tarpon, Bonefish and Jack Crevalle and had shots at or hooked up on Permit, Barracuda, Snook and Cubera Snapper. All in crystal clear water and beautiful tropical scenery. The food was excellent, fresh and locally produced. Grilled lobster, Stone Crab, Curried Chicken, Sopa de Lima and Banana Bread Pudding were some of the highlights among many memorable meals. The Rum Punch and Conch Ceviche at the bar was a welcome afternoon snack on the walk back to the villa after a day of casting a 10 weight fly rod at Tarpon. The owners and staff at the lodge truly treated us like family or guest and not just customers.

We spent most of the flight home talking about when we could go back. We decided to make an annual visit on our anniversary and this time invite some friends. You are invited to celebrate our first wedding anniversary with us October 9-14, 2014 at El Pescador Lodge and Villas in Belize.

This trip is a 2 for 1 special! Pay for a one person fishing trip and a guest can share your room and boat for free. Cost for the trip is US$3620 staying in the beachfront Main Lodge or US$4120 for a private villa.

Price covers lodging, round trip air, land and sea transfers between Belize City and El Pescador, 3 meals per day, hors d’oeuvres, local Belizean beverages consumed at the bar (including soda, beer and rum drinks), complimentary use of all amenities (pools, internet, gym, kayaks, bikes, etc.), hotel tax, GST tax and 3 full days guided fly fishing. This package incorporates a “flex” day for you to kayak and fish the Mangrove lagoons or the Coral reef near the lodge on your own, explore and shop in San Pedro Town or just relax on the beach or by the pool. Or, you can book another day of guided fishing ($480/day for two anglers), snorkel or SCUBA trip, Golf at Chapel Caye, Mayan ruin tour, Eco-tour, visit the Belize Zoo, massage and spa services, go cave tubing, zip lining, etc.. A full list and pricing is available at: http://www.elpescador.com/adventure. Guided fishing and SCUBA trips require advance booking; most other excursions can be booked upon arrival. Trip price does not include airfare between USA and Belize City, imported beverages and tips for guides and staff.

October in Belize is one of the best chances to accomplish the fabled “Grand Slam” of catching a Permit, Bonefish and Tarpon on a fly in one day. El Pescador is the 2013 Orvis Endorsed International Fly Fishing Lodge of the Year.

This trip has filled quickly and only two spaces remain!

Feel free to contact us with any questions, by Email or at (903) 967-2665.
Hope you can make the trip and celebrate our 1st anniversary with us while enjoying one of the world’s top saltwater fly fishing destinations,

Rob Woodruff and Jenny Mayrell-Woodruff
