Earlier today the Dallas Fly Fishers Club put on a lengthy demonstration of the different aspects of fly fishing, including casting and fly tying, as well as distributing TPWD information about fishing in Texas. The event was part of Earth Day Event, Arbor Day Event and a National Parks Event which were all rolled into one for the residents of Trophy Club at a great little park on Lake Grapevine.

It was the first time to see this park for myself and most of the other club members that helped out from about 9:30 to 1:00 today. The event was well attended in spite of the questionable weather, and there was plenty of room for casting and great seating for extended conversations. Needless to say, plans are being hatched for a return to this location – with fly rods.
