Captain Ken Jones Rockport Area Report

| September 22, 2021

FROM CAPTAIN KEN JONES:Update from last weeks fishing: only got offshore 1 day and managed to get 15-20 shots at several blacktip sharks in the 5ft range but interestingly enough, they all were afraid of the flies/retrieves… Also had a 4ft tarpon appear out of nowhere while working with the shark rig. Needless to say the tarpon did not eat that rig!

The flats fished well and the weather has been excellent. Plenty of redfish and drum around and even saw a 4ft blacktip shark on the flats yesterday. – Captain Ken Jones (9-22-21)

You can find Captain KenJo at www.kenjofly.com and I suggest you click on that link for more information about the Rockport area, and the Captain’s exploits plundering the healthy fishery there! I picked “Rockport” because that is where I hear the most about from the Captain, but he also fly fishes Port Aransas and Corpus Christi. You can call Captain Ken anytime 361-500-2552 or email him at [email protected] . Please be sure and mention Texas Fly Caster when contacting him!
