JH is being persistent about me focusing on building fly rods. Where do I start as far as everything goes?

There used to be a guy in Ft. Worth, John Bradford I think is his name, whom built custom rods. He is the only local guy I know of, but you could also go to either a Ft. Worth or Dallas Fly Fisher's club meeting and likely meet many others that do it as a hobby.
