We would like to invite all of our customers to attend Fly-A-Thon hosted at Living Waters Fly Fishing this coming Saturday! Fly-A-Thon began in January and was designed to generate fly donations to Casting for Recovery and Reel Recovery.

These two fly fishing based charities both work with cancer patients and take a number of individuals to fish premier destinations to aid in their recovery.

Both of these charities need flies for the participants to fish with on their retreats and I am proud to announce that so far, through the generous donations of fly tiers in several different countries, more than 2,000 flies have already been donated!

Come and join us for the Fly-A-Thon Grand Finale this weekend as we tie up as many flies as possible for the last day of the event! Living Waters Fly Fishing will be donating over 1,000 hooks to the cause and all you have to do is bring your vise, tools, and some materials!

There will be fly tying demos held thoughout the day by many skilled fly tiers and we are sure that you will leave the event with more fly tying knowledge than you came with! We will see you this Saturday for this all-day event!

Pat is the President of the Jack Sparks Central Texas Flyrodders club in Waco, TX. He has a vast knowledge of white bass fishing the greater Waco area and he will be sharing new white bass fishing locations that many fly fisherman from this area are not familiar with.

This is a new event that will be held on the banks of the Llano River near Kingsland, TX. Living Waters Fly Fishing will have a booth at this event on Saturday, March 24th. This class is designed to teach the many uses of the Marc Petitjean Magic Tool. This tool has revolutionized our tying by opening up new possibilities with tried and true materials! We are pleased to announce that we have already received over 1000 flies for the Fly-A-Thon donations and have that many more flies committed!! We will be hosting the finale to this event and there will be fly tying in the store all day long!! Our goal is to host as many fly tiers as possible and see how many flies we can tie in a single day to donate to Casting for Recovery and Reel Recovery. This workshop includes the basic and intermediate fly fishing courses and is open to adults and children (ages 10 or above) interested in fly fishing. Basic elements of the course will include Fly Casting, Fly Tying, Ecology, Game Laws, Ethics, and Fly Fishing Tactics. Class is limited to 15 participants. Wear comfortable clothing for outdoor activities and bring a sack lunch for the one hour break between classes. There is no charge for the workshop; however there is a fee of $4.00 per person paid on arrival as part of the park entrance fee; pre-registration required. NOTE – If you’re down south, and interested at all in fly fishing, then you really need to know Dr. Ramirez. He’s one of those individuals who is happy to share the passion, and I still use his fly patterns to catch fish every time I go to salt.
