Good humor for a rainy morning

We are in limbo here, but I could not resist this image that was passed along via e mail earlier today.

The site update / redesign / relocation should be done by Monday, so expect outages this week, and if you want exclusive information in the most rapid delivery, feel free to click that twitter button – on the right side – and follow texasflycaster that way. Along with all the other sites, we’re about to add www.overgrownboy.com to the stable of spaghetti concepts (see what sticks).

Buckets of rain, wind and much cooler today. Yesterday, we topped out at 88-degrees, and it seems most of the violent weather skirted Denton, Texas. Apparently, Ray Roberts is up 8 inches today, and that means we are back on the flats next week to resume filming for the Ultimate Kayak Fisherman pilot episode.

Rob Woodruff also sent an update as follows:

Thursday, October 15. I will be presenting the program “Fly Fishing Mountain Fork” at the monthly meeting of the Austin Fly Fishers in Austin, TX. The meeting will be held at the Northwest Recreation Center in Austin, Texas. It is located at 2913 Northland Dr. which is a couple of blocks east of MoPac. An informal fly tying and visit session starts at 6:00 PM and the formal meeting begins at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, October 17. At 2:00 PM, I will be presenting the program
“Fly Fishing the Mountain Fork” at Orvis Arlington (I-20 and Matlock, Arlington, TX)

Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide and FFF Certified Master Casting Instructor Steve Hollensed will be doing an Advanced Casting Demonstration at 9:00 AM and presenting the program at “Texoma on the Fly” at Noon.

Steve and I will be available to answer your fly fishing questions from 9:00 to 4:00.

Be sure to come by and check out the new 8 Hole Casting Course Orvis Arlington has built in front of the store.

From October 10-18 all Orvis stores will be hosting special promotions and programs as part of 2009 Fall Orvis Days. Click the link for the store nearest you for a complete schedule.

“Fly Fishing the Mountain Fork” gives an overview of fishing the river above and below the lake and highlights changes that occurred during the flooding this past Spring.

Hope to see you there,

Rob Woodruff
