The Denison Dam at Texoma Lake is a location that has produced a wonderful Fall of Stripers and conversation aplenty about the need for cleanup at the area below the Dam. A brief mention of the situation – loads of trash, as well as hooks, lead, lines and lures – on a message board, generated a current of interest and a long thread on the topic, how to fix it and finally a cleanup by fly fishing folks this coming Saturday. At last look the cleanup is scheduled to begin at 9am. If you have not been to the Texoma location, this would be a chance to see it, meet some folks who care, and maybe help out a little.

Personally, I do not see an easy remedy to the littering situation at Texoma. More trash cans could work, but something must be wrong with that idea as it is too simple. Stay tuned for a podcast on the cleanup as well as part one of a typical visit to Texoma last year.
