On the fly side: We have a multi-installment of a wonderful piece of work by Joel Hays. It is what he calls the “Small Stream Manifesto”. I call it a piece of work. Keep in mind Joel has been fishing in the mountains since he was five, and guided professionally in the Crested Butte / Gunnison, Colorado, area in the Mid-1990’s.
I am still gathering information on the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA), as it is a dynamic and charged location – politically charged on a micro scale.
There will be a huge huge expansion in gear information. We are talking in depth coverage, thoughts, resources, and podcasts. Now that Winter 2008 is in full swing it is time to think about SPRING and SUMMER!
The big retail news in North Texas is the closing of Sportsman’s Warehouse located in North Dallas along I35 in Lewisville, Texas. I went by there today and the place was pretty much wiped out in the department of FLY. Sorry to say goodbye to a small big-box store. Long live Mom-and-Pop! If you know of a Mom-and-Pop worthy of note, be sure to let TFC know and we will give them a direct link on this site. Heck, they are so rare,we could even throw in a podcast if they are interested!
Maybe all we need is a shot in the arm?
